Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao

Vinmec Research Institute of Stem Cell and Gene Technology, Member of Global Young Academy

Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao is a distinguished young researcher specializing in mental health, psychology, applications of artificial intelligence in medicine, and stem cell research.

She has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Ph.D Scholarship (2020-2023) from the Vingroup Innovation Foundation (VINIF). She was also awarded a scholarship from the “São Paulo Advanced Science School for Pandemic Preparedness” at the University of São Paulo (Brazil) and participated in the World Health Summit 2022 (Berlin, Germany) as a representative of Vietnam.

In early 2024, Dr. Thao became the first Vietnamese female Ph.D. to be elected to the Global Young Academy (GYA), headquartered in Halle (Germany), and supported by the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. She is also one of the two nominees from GYA to participate in the Young Physician Leaders (YPL) program and is expected to attend the World Health Summit in October 2024 (Berlin, Germany) as a representative of GYA and Vietnam.

Dr. Thao has published 16 research papers in prestigious Q1 journals, with 9 papers as the first and corresponding author. She also serves as an independent peer reviewer for many reputable journals from publishers such as Elsevier, Springer, Frontiers, and BMC.

Ho Chi Minh City Peace and Development Foundation was established by the decision of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, which is a member of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO). The foundation operates on a voluntary, non-profit basis.

Prof. Vo Tong Xuan

Prof. Vo Tong Xuan is the former vice-rector of Can Tho University, former rector of An Giang University… and was awarded the title of Labor Hero and People’s Teacher by the State. He is the author of many valuable research works, textbooks, books, and reference materials serving agricultural production not only domestically but also internationally. Especially in the years 1980 – 1985, he introduced IR36 and MTL30 varieties, which were most popular in the Western provinces. Not only famous domestically, his research also brings many benefits to poor countries in Africa.

Prof. Nguyen Thuc Quyen is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) as well as Chair of the Pre-Screening Committee. She joined the faculty of the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department at UCSB in summer 2004.

Prof. Thuc-Quyen Nguyen is among the Top 1% Highly Cited Researchers in Materials Science and Cross-Field by Thomson Reuters and Clarivate Analytics. In addition, she has received numerous prestigious honors and awards, including: The 2015-2019 World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds; The 2019 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science; The 2019 Hall of Fame – Advanced Materials; The 2016 Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry; The 2015 Alexander von Humboldt Senior Research Award; and many more.
