Sam Korsmoe is an American from the state of Montana. He is the author of Saigon Stories, an oral history of Vietnam (published in 2006), A World Gone Mad for Marathons, a nonfiction book on marathons and other sporting events (published in 2019), and Vietnam – Asia’s Rising Star, a book about the future of Vietnam (published in October 2023 in English and July 2024 in Vietnamese). He is the founder of the Saigon Writers Club, which hosts private and in-person creative writing classes for people who have always wanted to write and publish fiction. It has hosted 11 creative writing classes and published four short story anthologies with a fifth anthology to be published in 2024.
Sam has written extensively on business, culture, education, and sports for several publications. He has published numerous market and industrial research reports about Vietnam and Cambodia for various companies and foreign governments and has been interviewed numerous times by international media including the New York Times, CNN, BBC, Financial Times, Reuters, and other publications. He has traveled to nearly every country in Asia for extended trips. He has studied and can speak Vietnamese (fluent), Mandarin Chinese (survival), and the Philippine dialect of Chavacano (near fluency). Sam has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Montana State University and a Master of Arts in International Studies from the University of Washington. He wrote his Master’s thesis was on the renovation reforms (Doi Moi) of Vietnam.
Prof. Vo Tong Xuan is the former vice-rector of Can Tho University, former rector of An Giang University… and was awarded the title of Labor Hero and People’s Teacher by the State. He is the author of many valuable research works, textbooks, books, and reference materials serving agricultural production not only domestically but also internationally. Especially in the years 1980 – 1985, he introduced IR36 and MTL30 varieties, which were most popular in the Western provinces. Not only famous domestically, his research also brings many benefits to poor countries in Africa.

Prof. Nguyen Thuc Quyen is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) as well as Chair of the Pre-Screening Committee. She joined the faculty of the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department at UCSB in summer 2004.
